Alex Heart by fan @MichelleLvsAlex

This post is a bit out of the ordinary in that it’s not exactly about Alex Lambert, rather about someone who did right by him… but anyone who does right by Alex is worth a mention in our books – especially as the so-called news story about Alex’s tweets goes international, with the facts and the tweets themselves getting ever more distorted with each repetition.

In the last few days, we’ve gotten a deluge of e-mails from journalists trying to get in touch with Alex – all but one of whom wrote their articles first, and e-mailed later. The sole exception was Robert Philpot, a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, whose articles on Alex I first came across while looking for references for the Alex Lambert Wikipedia entry. This guy has legitimately been following Alex from the very beginning, and sent us a truly nice e-mail explaining that he hadn’t yet written about the tweets because he wasn’t sure this wasn’t an overreaction/hoax, and also out of sensitivity to Alex’s parents.

Now we didn’t answer any of the other journalists, because as Alex’s fansite run by his fans it’s not our place. But I did answer Robert just to say thanks personally, because I was touched by his integrity.

Today, I discovered that Robert has finally written his piece on Alex’s tweets, and you should all go read it, because it’s what journalism is supposed to be about – based on the facts, and not wild speculation. Robert may be regretting not writing sooner and capitalizing on the topic’s viral status, but I hope he gets some comfort from knowing that us Alex fans appreciate and respect him for it.

You can read the article here.

I’d also like to mention Paul J. Warner, who wrote a very nice blog post doing his part to get Alex more followers, as well as Tiffany and Harrison Painter, who offered Harrison’s expertise in helping Alex set up his own blog.

Also not to be forgotten is model, star of all four Resident Evil films and singer Milla Jovovich, along with her bandmate Chris Brenner, who tweeted Alex offering their assistance (what is it about actresses and Alex? First Demi, now Milla!). In fact, Chris Brenner’s tweet about Alex, in which he says “I saw @TrueAlexLambert on Idol. His voice & talent are just undeniable and he really struck me as genuine, good kid.”, has been a Top Tweet since yesterday.

And finally, to all the other people who e-mailed us hoping to get in touch with Alex, or filled our Twitter timelines with positive tweets, thank you. We’re sure that Alex appreciates it just as much as we are heartened by your decency.

  1. My question is: why hasn’t Alex spoken with anyone? Not to be crass but he should take advantage of all this media interest at the moment. It’ll get the attn of recording companies too and think he has some media pull. You think 19 is forbidding him? I thought the 19rep did a shitty job in handling this anyway saying such dumb comments, doesnt really sound professional. The supposed PR rep sounds more like an underpaid 18 yr assistant to the actual PR rep who just happened to answer the phone……
Alll I’m saying is, they could’ve spinner this to a positive….

  2. I’ve been thinking about that too, Yves. Yeah, his “handlers” pretty much blew it with their response. Made Alex look like a jerk. I think they have since told him to keep a low profile for a while–right now they don’t want anything to take the focus off the new season of Idol.

Wonderful post, btw, @Kass! You guys are doing an awesome job here!

  3. First of all, just wanna say excellent job to Michelle!! That picture is awesome!

I would also like to thank Gwen (Alex’s mom) and Sebastian (Alex’s friend) for all the helpful communications in the past few days and for being such a great support system to Alex.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the fans who love Alex as much as I do and who visit this site regularly…you guys are like my family and I really really love all of you!

  4. Molly: First of all, just wanna say excellent job to Michelle!! Awww, Molly. We love you too!

  5. Yes! I would love for the Alex Lambert love to spread all over the planet. Thanks for this post, great job! After the hurricane, there’s a rainbow! (I stole that from Katy Perry, haha). But really, I know some good will come out this fiasco, lol! There’s a silver lining and everything happens for a reason. And Molly WE LOVE YOU TOO! And Alex of course, and Mama Gwen and the Lambert Fam! God Bless them all.

Us SNAF are like one big Alex Lambert-loving family, a little crazy at times but we mean well!

  6. I feel the same way Molly, who knew when I first clicked on the search for Alex Lambert after he got voted off AI, that I would find such a great group of people. Even tho we have never officially met, I really love you guys…..Alex must be pretty special to be able to bring perfect strangers together like he has…and thank you Kass and Molly for doing such a great job!!!

  7. Love your positivity Katherine!!

    Love the heart thingy Michelle!

Love the article and the blogger’s article! This is a small point, but I’m so glad that he brought it out…The people who said Alex should get a day job…that really irked me. Trust me, no one can make it in the music biz without it being the ONLY thing they do. Sure, if you’re happy just gigging around town and playing in a band a few nights a week, that’s fine. But, if you’re born to do music, and Alex was, then that’s all you can do…heart and soul.

The first thing Ed said to me when I walked in was, “Hey, they were talking about your boyfriend on the news today.” He didn’t remember what channel or anything, but can you believe it’s NATIONAL F_ _ _ ING NEWS? hahaha — why are we even voting for “Mr. Twitter?” Alex has proven with just a few tweets that he IS IT. One thing you can never take away from Alex, whatever he does, he does it big!

P.S. I love you all too!

  8. Haha! So true Janet, good point! Proof enough, the boy’s got STAR potential. C’mon 19E, get our boy a deal already!! Geez

It would be so cool if we could all meet one day! I always thought conventions for fans and stuff were dorky, but now I see why people go to them! You get to meet your fellow snaf, haha. We totally need to have an Alex Lambert Convention one day, hahaha. :silly:

  9. I vote for an Alex Lambert Convention one day too; I would totally go. That would be so fun!

I don’t know why people can overreact sooooooooooo much and be so silly about some things–and sometimes even cruel. But that doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter what the haters say. Haters are good because that means he’s reaching a higher level of publicity. The more famous one is, the more haters he/she has. So, Alex is moving on up! As if that’s new news to us snaf, though.

    We  Alex Lambert 4-Eva!

  10. Quick note and I’m off — let’s start planning the convention. Seriously. We’ve all become so close via the wonders of the Internet and, of course, Alex Lambert. And, naturally, Alex must be the honored guest — who will be expected to perform  I don’t think he’d mind. We can pick a place, like a hotel with a banquet room, grab a bunch of rooms at a group rate, rent the banquet room for the night, and have Alex perform for all his snaf. Keep thinking gang. There really is no reason we can’t do this.

 That would be cool! I think we should wait for something big to celebrate like album release partayyy, haha

  12. @Janet, @Katherine – You know that I am so IN. I agree that we should wait to celebrate something big like an album release or even a recording contract announcement.

@Janet – See what you can do to get Alex on board. How amazing would that be.

  13. I wouldn’t be at all opposed to holding the convention on the beaches of Greece!

    • Woooo!!! NOW you’re talking LOL!! And I got the perfect place – deserted beach, ya’ll could camp with my husband’s parents’ beach house as homebase lol!!

OOOoh or better yet at his aunt’s and uncle’s place on the next beach over – they got rooms they let out to yoga groups, but most of the time it’s empty, and there’s a perfect place to perform!!

Haha I’m so dreaming, but just to tempt you all… this is the place, and they’ve fixed it up even nicer now and added a pool ;) http://www.twitpic.com/3sgstq

  14. Molly: I wouldn’t be at all opposed to holding the convention on the beaches of Greece!

OMG!! HECK YEA MOLLY! I’ve always wanted to go to Greece! haha :w00t:

  15. OMG Kass. Sign me up! That looks gorgeous.

  16. Wow Kass! What a beautiful place to live! You are so lucky! Planning an international convention might be harder than I thought though. But, nothing is impossible. If y’all are serious, let’s do it.

Why do we want to wait for his album release? Maybe we should just head out to TX tomorrow (is here there?) and just ambush him. How does that sound? LOL.

  17. @Kass, your twitpic viewer is 27 now but 3/27 is mine. And maybe I’ll look in a few more times. Greece…..oh. And I just knew Greece is closer than to go to USA. Ohhhhh…but…Ladies you can enjoy without me. I have nothing to do but “gaman”(=patient) . But just only to imagine and dreaming also make me feel good.

  18. Talking about Wikipedia, people like Japanese who have their own letters feel difficulties reading English although they learn English many years at school. So do I. In comparison, Indonesian people seem to read English more easily because they usually use alphabet. If there are any Korean, Chinese, Thailand Alex fan visiting this site, I hope you will translate and edit Alex Lambert Wikipedia in your own language. I’m ready to promote Alex music in our community when the first single and album released! And I thank you a lot @Kassandra for giving me good advices during my work.

  19. Ko – you are such a wonderful fan!!! <3

  20. Marianne: Ko – you are such a wonderful fan!!! <3  (Reply)

I was just going to say the same thing. Ko you rock! Now, we need to strategize on how to handle the lies that 19 spread about having Alex on retainer, etc. THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE LAST WORD IN THIS MATTER! Making false statements in print and media has consequences. Of course, we have to wait for Alex’s input. I will not act rashly. But, I will not sit idly by believing that this will all just work out fine. I’m not that naive.

  21. I think that Robert Philpot deserves the first real interview with Alex for Alex to give his side of what happened. Robert did it the right way and it breaks my heart in his article that he questions whether or not he did the right thing and questions that he may have underreacted.

Plus he was nice enough to quote me.

  22. Robert Philpot definitely deserves an interview. But, no disrespect to him intended, there are national outlets, Entertainment Weekly and others, banging on the door wanting to know how to contact Alex. Big, national exposure with Alex just telling the truth and being his charming self is all that is needed to spin this in the right direction (i.e, promoting Alex in a positive light). Keep messaging him to do it. So far, he’s not responding. It would be a shame for him to lay low now. If he doesn’t strike while they’re all so hot to talk to him, he’s yesterday’s news, and they’ll move on.

  23. obviously something is very wrong in the current events surrounding the life and career of Alex Lambert. First we see some tweets supposedly from Alex saying he is homeless since the end of If I Can Dream. Then we see tweets, again supposedly from Alex Lambert saying there was miscommunication and things are not as bad as reported. We also received tweets, supposedly from XIX or 19 Entertainment, ??? not sure who, saying Alex is on a Retainer and is receiving money every month. Now, most recently, there are tweets, again supposedly from Alex, saying he know nothing about any retainer.

Hopefully, someone who is able, will get to the bottom of this. No doubt this is Alex’s life, but he has become part of our lives too and we need to know the truth.

    What is going on???

  24. @ Janet

Good point. I was not even thinking exclusive or anything like that. I really just meant one of the first.

I figured with Philpot that they could meet somewhere in person with Alex being home in Texas unless someone national shows up at his doorstep, which could very well happen. I think I remember when MTV and some other media had found out that Josiah Leming had been homeless before trying out for AI (later moved back with his parents before the show aired), MTV and other media surprised the hell out of him by showing up at his parents house with cameras where he was at. My memory is faulty on how all that happened exactly, but the point being that Alex really can’t hang low and hide out.

My hunch is the PR person was so far out of the loop to confuse Alex with Adam and was really are not on top of things. His management assuming it really is part of 19E needs to own up to the truth as well that they mispoke about the retainer.

  25. I’m not even going to try and guess what’s going on now. There’s too much unknown information. And probably a TON of miscommunication on all sides.

  26. snuffles (aka “Hermione Granger”): I’m not even going to try and guess what’s going on now. There’s too much unknown information. And probably a TON of miscommunication on all sides.  (Reply)

Snuffles, you may be surprised to hear this, but I agree with you 100%. This story is spinning in too many directions at this point. My only regret would be a lost opportunity for Alex to get some positive press out of this.
