We’d like to take a moment to say Hi! to all of Alex Lambert’s international fans. You may not comment much, but we know you’re there, and we like having you around!

Here’s a map showing recent visitors to this site (each dot represents a visitor – click to enlarge):

The map is a bit unclear cause in some countries the dots are all located in the same small space on top of each other, so here are the countries with the largest Alex fanbases:

We of course get lots of visits from the English speaking countries: Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK…

And I think we all know that Alex has TONS of fans in Asia, where Idol aired pretty much at the same time as it did in the US. The vast majority of these fans are from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore, as well as China and Japan… boy do you guys love Alex! Hi!

The Alex love also extends across Europe… The Netherlands and Sweden REALLY dig him, as does Spain, Belgium and Denmark. Germans are HUGE fans, too… but the country in Europe with the biggest crush on Alex has to be… France! Bonjour French fans!

Now, what some Americans may not know is that in many countries around the world, American Idol often airs months – even a year – after its original air date in the US. And there’s nothing we like to see more than Alex fans suddenly popping up in a new country once the show starts airing there! Our guess is that the most recent country to start broadcasting Idol Season 9 is Estonia… has he been voted off yet guys? If not, get your tissues ready!

Last, but not least, is South America: Venezuela, Argentina and Chile all love them some Lambert, but his biggest following is in Brazil – Olá Brazil!!

So now that we’ve got the introductions out of the way, why don’t all you international Alex fans say Hi back? We’d love to hear from you – in any language you feel comfortable in! When did American Idol air in your country? Did everyone catch Alex fever like in the US? How much are you dying for Alex to come and do a show in your country one day?

Don’t be shy – just cause you’re far away doesn’t mean you can’t participate! And if we didn’t mention your country, but you think we should have, let us know that, too!

Update: OK is Idol showing in Malaysia now? Or are you all just trying to get a mention in this post? Well… whatever the reason, hello sudden influx of peeps from Malaysia!

  1. I am so happy for Alex, he seems pretty happy himself right now. Hopefully everything is going smooth, and he is surrounding himself with good people. Kinda excited to see what is next huh??

  2. I love that ALex is tweeting much! I’m actually not used to it, it’s getting me all excited :) Well it looks like nothing really slowed down for him and he does seem to have a place to live. That twitgoo looks like his room so obviously they did put him up. I never got the impression that he’s looking for an apt. Im sure recording companies have a few units they lend out to their new recording stars while working on their album. Either way, glad he’s sharing pics, I really appreciate the visuals, it’s good enough for me. I was just thinking that IICD seems so long ago already…

  3. Good news for next Tuesday’s “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”. I had a test run tonight. I successfully copied the National Anthem from tonight’s game, edited it, and uploaded it on YouTube. It always works on the practice run though.

Love Alex’s tweets and pictures.

  4. @Lauren Yay! I’m glad you figured it out. Its always a great feeling when I figure out how to do something new. I’m sure your upload will go great.

@Linda – I do think he seems happy. I am so pleased that things seem to be going well for him.

@Yves – I am really loving all the tweets, too. I like the pics a lot. I hope he keeps it up. Glad to see that he hasn’t slowed down at all and that he does have a place to live.

  5. I am so glad you got it to work Lauren. I just hope I don’t forget to watch next Tues. I’ve missed all the shows so far. :pinch: I’m glad (at least hope) he wasn’t on any of those shows.
I’m glad Alex is tweeting so much and now sending us pictures too. It makes me feel I’m in the loop with what he is doing. It helps to ease missing him so much. I hope he keeps it up.
I am happy things are going so well for Alex, and he does seem happier now. He is not a caged bird anymore (so to speak).

  6. Hi Kass, thanks for the great map but I haven’t seen you mention Alex’s fans in Vietnam. Just wondering how many Vietnamese people are addicted to his music (like me  ).

  7. There’s quite a lot of Vietnamese visitors to this site pipi!! You should hunt them down and tell them to say hello!!

  8. Nice Cover!

Also…..Hmmm interesting, I get google alerts and it directed me to a jason castro discussion page …they have a whole thread on Alex how much hey love him (looks like it was started around May), Looks like someone had discovered this site and said they should join (on the 3rd page), wonder if they ever did? Makes me woner how many other people have threads going on like that

  9. Wow.. i thought i’m the only one from Indonesia. LOL.
I didnt know Alex so famous in Indonesia.
I think we should make alex lambert FC in Indonesia. LOL

I was in Malaysia for 6 years. They aired AI in the same week. But few days late. But Live on the final.

    • @Lauren: Good news re. DFTL!!

@pipi What Molly said lol. There are quite a lot of visitors from Vietnam, and I debated on whether to add it to the list… it only just missed the cut compared to the numbers from other countries. I’m glad we’ve got you representing though :)

@Linda Well that was a fun thread to read! I just hope they didn’t come over here the exact day that certain people started commenting about the dreadlocked one lol (I like Jason Castro!!)

@baqinardo ooh are you from Indonesia too? Yes, you should definitely make an Alex fan club there lol. And yesterday Chrilly started a great Twitter tag: #TeamAlexInternational LOL! Thanks for the info about Idol in Malaysia! I don’t know why suddenly a ton of Malaysians are coming then lol.

  10. @LindaW-I saw 2,or 3 Alex threads on one of Archie’s fansites a couple months ago,but I forget which one.Anyway-they loved Alex!

  11. Its interesting to look at that map. I know Alex used to get quite a bit of tweets from Indonesian fans who will write both in foreign language and English. I see a fan from Indonesia finally posted here. And some of them from Philippines too. Philippines will be a good market for Alex’s style of music cause Pop/Soul/R&B/Hip-hop is very popular there.

Seeing Alex in that room tweeting a pic of his ‘Stevie Ray Vaughn CD makes me miss watching him on IICD. We got used to looking at him in his room like that’s his normal way of living. Its good to see him tweeting about going to 19E and obviously still associated with them. He’s making the connection between his age 19 and working with 19E too. Its like how he was in the ‘dreamer’ group on Idol Hollywood round, and he ended up on IICD, a show about ‘dreamers’ after singing the song ‘Trouble’ with the lyrics ‘I’ve been saved by a woman.’ Its interesting the connections.

Brayden: You read this site all the time and didnt post after all this time? That’s will power right there. I read people’s tweets and I don’t have a twitter account yet, but if its a message board I would have jumped into the conversation within a week if its a site that interest me. You are just not the chatty type.

Snuffles & LindaW; I dont care much for that ‘no diggity’ song or its lyrics. The slow pacing/flow seems cool and the word ‘diggity’ is catchy but it doesn’t really have a good enough melody. Alex should cover a song with a good melody that shows quality of singing, and best part of his voice, and that song doesnt. I think he should cover a pop/soul song like Terence Trent Darby, James Morrison, Sam Cooke and Jason Mraz vibe or bluesy-pop of John Mayer for example.

Diane: Tim Urban covering Bruno Mars? I don’t think that’d work or fit his voice. Bruno Mars’s song will fit Alex’s voice and vibe more – both have nice interesting voices that stands out (shape of his face and dimples always reminds me of Alex too.) That song “That Girl Is Trouble” with calypso/reggae beat that Alex wrote recently for his CD that we all like has a similar vibe with Bruno Mars’s “Liquor Store Blues” (feat. Damian Marley) – It will fit Alex’s voice too. Its a good song with good melody, although I think Damian Marley’s voice and ‘rude boy’ reggae style clashes a bit with the flow. Stephen Marley’s style of Reggae would be a better fit on the song. Btw, that cool reggae song “Hey Baby” by Stephen Marley (Feat. Mos Def) fits Alex’s voice perfectly too whenever he sang along in his room. Actually, a lot of reggae songs will fit Alex’s voice cause its interesting voices like his that works for those songs

Ayem: Yeah, Alex’s voice really fits that blues song “my baby don’t stand no cheating”. His voice fits it more than even the original singer. I liked it whenever he sang it — good song and its amusing and interesting, and would be a fun song to perform at a small concert just to mix it up and amuse/entertain people – I don’t know if it goes with the rest of his CD though. But I do think Alex should have a bluesy-pop song to show his bluesy side.

I’s good for John Park that he is already getting endorsements and cashing in. He’s already very popular there. And he’s attractive enough like the Asian music/movie stars, and has well proportioned body and taller than the average guy there – that makes him marketable in other areas other than singing. By the way I thought his last name “Park” is English, but from reading the Korean site or watching videos about the contest he was on I saw that Park is actually a common name in Korea, so it must have a Korean meaning.

  12. @Lauren-I am suspicious ,as to whether Savannah Outen is a signed artist or not. When I was at the mall the other day,I saw an impressive CD put out by Hollywood Records(Disney’s artists’ label),and there were one,or two Savannah tracks on it,along with Miley,Demi Lovato,Selena Gomez, and so I think its just a marketing gimmick they use telling people that she’s “unsigned”-I think she really is signed to Hollywood records-just like the rest of that bunch… :ninja:

  13. Okay I found this yesterday and Linda agreed via Twitter. My cover thought is “Bring It On Home to Me” by Sam Cooke. Imagine Alex’s vocals on this… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PLznPkSlzwOMG
I’d die to hear him do this song. Alex would kill it.

At first I wanted him to cover “Every Breath You Take” by the Police. It was more or less curiosity on my part, wondering what Alex could do with one of my all time favorite songs.

@alleycatfan You are probably right about Savannah being signed. I have never heard of her before. It could be because I never watch the Disney Channel. Can signed artist continue to maintain Youtube channels? Small labels probably don’t care, do they? How do I say this nicely, but I think that her recorded singing voice (from a studio) is better than her natural voice, similar to the rest of her Disney cohorts.

Lauren, I was going in a different direction for Alex’s cover request, I was thinking that some of Eric Clapton songs would really fit Alex and then I listened to the Bring it on Home to me by Sam Cooke and I TOTALLY agree that Alex’s vocals would be incredible (!) on that song! Also, welcome PIPI and Indonesia!

  15. this is crazy!! im so glad alex is getting known ALLLLLL over the world(:

  16. Hi from Singapore, small country in Asia. A big fan of AL since the start of AI he joined.
