Here’s a treat for the weekend! Lauren (very legit Alex Lambert fan) has made a wonderful video with all the best moments and jams with Alex Lambert from the American Idol Top 10’s visits to the “If I Can Dream” house.

Thank you Lauren!

Also, here’s a video Shelby made a while back of Gig and Alex in the Dream House washing dishes. For those that haven’t already seen it, get ready to laugh… it’s “the naughtiest dish washing session ever”!!

  1. @Lauren – Thanks for making this video. I really enjoyed it.

  2. Fun vid.-Get over it Crystal!-She’s a good singer, but she’s Boring. She might have made it back in the day when Janis Joplin,Joni Mitchell, and the like sold well. They would have been much better off with Katie getting to the finale,as the girl rep.,and getting the mandatory record deal, cuz her style is much more relevant to today’s record sales…

  3. great musical/video collage. thank you for providing that

  4. Thank you Lauren! I really enjoyed rewatching those segments. Two things I noticed in particular — Alex has grown so much and I’m not talking about his physical appearance; although, he does look older now. I’m talking about his music and just maturity I guess. He’s still a goofball, and I hope he always remains one, but he’s got so much more confidence now. The second thing is Siobbhan — man, say what you will about her, but that girl can sing!

Ah…those were fun times with all the idols coming over and jamming and Alex still being so new and raw. But, it’s onward and upward (for Alex anyway).

I heard someone in the business mention the same exact thing about Crystal’s music. It’s just not relevant anymore.
This video was my first attempt at making a movie, so it’s not perfect. Sorry. I am learning and preparing myself for the “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” episode.

  6. Lauren, that was awesome!!! Thanks

  7. Hold on ladies — nobody can say Janis Joplin was boring! She may not be relevant to today’s music (although I disagree), but she was anything but boring.

  8. True- @Janet I saw a piece on her recently,and she was an entertaining personality,but Crystal=

  9. @Lauren, you did a fabulous job on this video.
I loved it. It brought back a lot of memories.
Thank you. I even saw a little footage of Alex that I never saw before. Very nice. Thank you so much.

  10. has everyone seen this video? its of Alex and Gig washing dishes, but its hilarious! (: http://www.twitvid.com/ETDD9

  11. @Janet I suppose the point that @alleycatfan and I were making was about sales, not about substance. If Archuletta’s numbers are bleak at the moment, then I don’t see much success for Crystal. The chance of her being played on any of the (limited) radio stations in my area are slim and none. The upcoming Crystal Bowersox’s tracks are Adult Contemporary at best…not many downloads from the youth of America. Sorry, but that is the majority of people downloading, besides all of us, right? Is she a super talented? Yes!!!! Is she boring? Not at all!!! :dizzy:

@Shelby- That was always one of the funniest of all IICD videos. Thanks:)

  12. @Shelby-I’d like to see Crystal make washing dishes that entertaining- Here’s hoping that if they ever get Alex another show-its up to his Charisma -level

  13. Shelby: has everyone seen this video? its of Alex and Gig washing dishes, but its hilarious! (: http://www.twitvid.com/ETDD9

That was so funny! “What do I do next Gig? I’m lost.” :silly:

  14. Hey, you moved the song tracks to under the banner. That’s cool.
Nice work. Better and better.

  15. Well ya’ll outdid the now defunct(likely forever)IICD Music Player with 12 Alex tracks to their measly 4…GR8 JOB!

  16. ahh love this! nostalgia! makes me miss the shorter hair (not the short-short cut, just shortER, i.e. the baby mullet)

and him an shevy had a thang, huh? damn

  17. When I was re-watching an ep. with Alex recording the full prod. of DWMEO,recently,I heard the producer from Deekay,Lars say he has “high hopes for Alex, just like…”,and he rattled off a few names and ended with “..like Lee Dewyze”-and I thought to myself-Jesus we’re gonna have to aim a lot higher than that ,or we’re DEAD :silly:

  18. alleycatfan: @Shelby-I’d like to see Crystal make washing dishes that entertaining- Here’s hoping that if they ever get Alex another show-its up to his Charisma -level

@Alleycatfan – A would love to see Alex on another show. He’s almost as much fun to watch as he is to listen too. I really miss seeing him doing this crazy stuff in the house.

  19. Ha ha, Shelby I was wondering where that video went.I loved that one!

  20. Hey kids, don’t get me wrong. I’m not a Crystal Bowersox fan and I agree with you about her style and saleability. My point was only not to diss on my Janis! She, not unlike Alex, was a totally unique singer and personality. She put her heart and soul into every performance. She was crazy-wild and far from boring. That’s all I meant. Who cares about Crystal? Why even talk about her? Alex is going to eclipse the whole last season of “winners” anyway.

I don’t think I saw the dishwashing episode live. HILARIOUS! Thanks for posting it.

  21. Shelby: has everyone seen this video? its of Alex and Gig washing dishes, but its hilarious! (: http://www.twitvid.com/ETDD9

My question is, why didn’t IICD include more of THIS kind of stuff in the episodes? It couldn’t be better or funnier if they’d scripted it!
Oh wait yeah… maybe cause it went against the whole “Gig hates Alex” scenario they were trying to fabricate…

Whatever, love this vid! Especially the Sir Mix Alot interlude :silly:

  22. Good times in the dream house. I love Alex’s laugh! So cute
And thanks Lauren for the video! Very cool!

  23. these 2 vids are bittersweet…love to watch it but sad IICD is no longer around. Missin’ the good ol’ days.

  24. I know what you mean@Nancy-as much as I didn’t like the show,at times,at least people got to see Alex weekly, and daily, sometimes. But who really knows what really happened? Someone would have to inject Simon F.with truth serum/sodium pentathol ,and then maybe we’d have the real truth… :ninja:

  25. Its nice to see the times the idols came on the show and sing with Alex. Lauren did a good job putting those scenes together. There are some moments that I missed during the show. I really liked when and Alex and Micheal were singing together in the living room, and when they sang with Andrew in the room. Alex, Andrew, and Micheal have very good, nice sounding voices that complements each other so well – it makes you wanna hear them do a whole song together. They have the type of voice great for recording too.

Oh that Crystal I remember the odd way she acted when they all came to IICD house and she only entered garage and left, cause she said “she didnt have good feeling about being on live cam” or something. I don’t get her vibe of music and didn’t really care for most of her performances on idol to be honest. (they weren’t bad I just didnt enjoy them) And she keeps tweeting about fighting the label that she wants to keep her indie vibe even though she’s on a major label, and wants to release her music late spring. She will be lucky if they let her release more than 2 CDs. She should be glad she’s not singing at subway stations anymore and stop complaining about things. I truly doubt she will go platinum with the style of music she sings but I wish her luck. I agree with Alleycatfan that Katie Steven’s Pop/soul vibe and voice fits more into what radio will play than Crystal. That’s why Katie was 2nd favorite of mine after Alex.

  26. Mark my words – with Crystal and Jive – it will be “one and done”. Her album won’t sell platinum. It won’t even sell gold. And quite frankly, she’ll be lucky to sell 250K. Jive is going to barely lift a finger when promoting her album because not only is she just not major label material, I’m sure they’re fed up with her attitude already.

Crystal and Jive will “amicably part ways” by next summer.
