Have we got a treat today!

Cathy’s superior Googling skills have uncovered a BRAND NEW Alex Lambert demo, produced by Rick Seibold (@RickSeibold). The song is called “Hurricane”, and it is FANTASTIC – a very emotional piano ballad (with a bit of a James Morrison feel). Enjoy!!

  1. I hope Alex responds to this new track release of “Hurricane”, by Rick Siebold, which is A SHOCKING development. And, BTW, its a brilliant track,. I hope Rick has a publishing deal, and 19R, at the very least, will have some say in this…

  2. Great, great song Alex. I LOVE IT!!
Also giving credit where credit is due… Mandi Perkins and Dillon Pace from Of Verona were also involved in the writing and production process.

  3. ooh, i love it *-* download? :B

  4. Wow!! Love this song. Should be on the radio right now!

  5. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. oh my gosh, Alex… so amazing.

  6. OMG! Hurricane is soooo AMAZING!!!! I can’t wait for ALex’s album! Every song he’s done has been perfect!

  7. It will be cleaned up and even more polished when taken to full production..and remember there are other equally good tracks, never released, such as “She’s Gone” and “You Are The Reason” – maybe even better

  8. Oh for a while there I expected the next song to play cos I thought I was listening to an album.

Me thinks the song is ready for official release!

  9. OMG, when I saw that on Google I almost lost my mind…. unbelievable. It is really so GOOD. I love it.

  10. All I have to say is….WOWZERRRS!!! Oh Alex…what a voice

  11. Still waiting for an Alex song to pop up that I don’t love. AMAZING.

  12. Matilda:
Still waiting for an Alex song to pop up that I don’t love. AMAZING.

I think you’ll be waiting a long, long time.

  13. Can I just say how incredibly ecstatic I am about the positive response for Hurricane so far, from Rickey.org and AI Now (who loved it!). And Lyndsey Parker from Yahoo also retweeted the link to the song!I have seen all positive comments about it and it makes me do a happy dance! GO ALEX!!! His tone & the emotion in the song is just so beautiful. Such a talent…he’s on his way

    • Ah I love this so much!! I might even – and this is kinda sacrilege I know – but I might even like it better than I Didn’t Know. Didn’t think it was possible, but Hurricane has even more gut-wrenching emotion. Love love love love!
I hope we get to hear a full production on this one!!

Which makes me think a sad thought… Alex has like TONS of songs written, and possibly demoed/produced, right? And probably they’re all amazing, BUT to construct a balanced album only a handful of those will ever make it on… so there will always be tons of songs floating out there that we NEVER GET TO HEAR! They’d better release a bunch of B-sides… That’s all I gotta say lol.

  14. I love the song but for me it sounds to much like on my tongue and i didnt know mash together

  15. Tomas:

that’s what i thought too! but i LOVE both of those songs so you won’t hear me complaining haha

  16. Good sleuthing Cathy!!! Love the song!

  17. Love this song so much…great song writing, so happy when a song has a meaning and a story…Alex sounded, no surprise, awesome! Great Job Alex and Rick….LOVED it

**Oh, and I didnt hear any resemblance to On My Tongue at all. Maybe in the beginning, I heard a little of I Didnt Know…but quickly transformed into its own.

  18. I love this song but I’m hardly ever online so I can never listen to it :(
If anyone has the MP3 and would be kind enough to send it to me I’d really appreciate it… It would only be used for personal use and I think those who know me can feel secure that I’ll buy Alex’s album ;) hahaha

Linda – I didn’t hear one iota of On My Tongue either. I think we are almost all agreed that the very start of Hurricane is similar to I Didn’t Know, but imo that’s all. That being said, I would LOVE to hear a demo/production of On My Tongue! I think it’s a really cool song with loads of potential!

  20. I love that hook; it really gets you. This song is just so gorgeous and beautiful and breathtaking. Amazing Alex.

  21. lo: that’s what i thought too! but i LOVE both of those songs so you won’t hear me complaining haha

They sound similar, naturally, because that’s ALEX LAMBERT’s style. In fact, though, other than the intro to Hurricane & IDK, the melodies are totally different. Alex is developing into quite the songwriter — he’s too young to write these words! He just keeps surprising me. All of his songs have great hooks — Baby, I’m a hurricane, On my tongue those words just don’t taste right, What makes you different makes you human, don’t go changing what makes you beautiful — all lines that hook you and stick in your head like super glue :) I only have one critique for Alex — Hurricane is a power word, you have to hit it with your power vocals, the lower, raspier end of your register — the high head voice doesn’t really work. He does hit it in most of the song, but he goes up in a couple of places where he should be hitting it lower and raspier. Just my two cents. I LOVE IT and am about out of patience on waiting for some airplay of these tunes. When in the world is that going to happen? He doesn’t need anymore “development.” He’s a ripe banana.

  22. Kassandra: Ah I love this so much!! I might even – and this is kinda sacrilege I know – but I might even like it better than I Didn’t Know. Didn’t think it was possible, but Hurricane has even more gut-wrenching emotion. Love love love love!I hope we get to hear a full production on this one!!Which makes me think a sad thought… Alex has like TONS of songs written, and possibly demoed/produced, right? Hey, Kass, like fine wine…Alex is just getting better. There’s no sacrilege in saying it might be better than IDK. I’m with you. This is one great f’ing song. I’d love to hear a full arrangement. And, yeah, sad to say we may never get to hear everything he’s got in the vault. But, you know, lots of artists write stuff, it hides away for years, and becomes a big hit years later, so you never know…We probably already have a lot of stuff that won’t be on his first album, so we’re ahead of the pack there. I know we all have every recording he’s ever made public, even when he was just singing to himself in his bedroom in the dreamhouse (or is that just me — LOL). Christ, I even have his Barney song recording. It can’t be just me. All the snaf are crazy like that, right? right? hahaha

  23. That was a cute idea of Andrew and Alex to have a Meet and Greet..Of course, Andrew’s guarantee that the first girl would net a KISS from Alex, landed 800 attendees..GR8 job guys!!!!

  24. Janet: All the snaf are crazy like that, right? right? hahaha

Yes :w00t: ….and proud of it hahahhaaha

  25. I’m in agreement w/ Kass and Janet..I think “Hurricane” would be a better radio single than IDK; it is catchier, quicker, & somehow more EXPLOSIVE, for this genre of song. I think it would be a better fit for radio, even though they both are piano driven. The Hurricane single has some “Madman Across The Water” aspects of arrangement, in addition, to the piano..and with full production, it will be far better. Rick’s demo is much rougher than the very polished demos 19 released last year to promote Alex, and I think it will KILL when we hear a REAL full production  AND, it is garnering VERY strong reviews from casual Alex fans, even though its promotion is virtually non- existent…

  26. Wow! I feel like I was hit by a hurricane when I listened to that. I know Alex has amazing talent, but he still blows me away, each and every time.

Such unusual rhyming structure to the song, but it works, very sophisticated. This is way beyond songwriting 101. I can’t even begin to think about writing songs like that.

I hope Alex’s hard work pays off real soon.

  27. I had a friend plus one neighbor over today, and they were very enthusiastic about the new track, and they weren’t particularly Alex fans,AT ALL..Honestly, there’s something very special, very immediate about this song.. it could be THE one to launch him.

  28. Love!!!

  29. alleycatfan: it could be THE one to launch him.
    alleycatfan(Reply)

I agree, its really something special!!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. This song has HUGE potential. It’s funny how Rick Seibold said, “I guess Hurricane was leaked.” He should have put a wink symbol after that statement. Love ya, Rick!

  31. OMG he’s just so damn good! He’s such an amazing song writer. Everyday i get more and more addicted to his song

  32. Here’s some of the best twitter comments from Alex’s DFTL appearane rerun last night(the first one is a RIOT):
