So, here’s how Alex Lambert’s Stickam session went today…

YEAH THAT’S RIGHT – 2,250 viewers on at one time, and over 20,000 TOTAL!! And no, that’s not an April Fool’s Day prank, those are the real numbers!! And that is PRETTY EPIC!

Unfortunately, the high traffic meant that the feed was really choppy, but it’s all good – just shows how many snaf there are out there loving him!! And that makes us very very happy!!

Chunk Up the Deuce for Alex Lambert

Oh and how could we forget to mention – today is one year to the day since Alex entered the Dream House! Amazing how far he’s come since then!

  1. I know I saw over 2200 live views and 21,000 or more ses. views, so several thousand screens tuned in at one point or another..And then too, some share a screen , so that’s some thousands more..YAY And I think if he can get rid of the screen freezing so much, he’ll get even more viewers..The first 2 that he did a week or so back on his private ch. were totally smooth-picture and sound-wise..hopefully can get that again..but Great session, and more exposure!!!

    • Guys, it’s Stickam’s issue not Alex’s. He can’t do anything about the screen freezing so much – besides doing the sessions without letting ppl know about them beforehand so that only a few hundred are watching… that’s why they were smooth before and not this time… with so many thousands, it makes sense that it was choppy. Also he wasn’t streaming from his place (it was direct from his writing session) so maybe the connection there was slower.

But even so, it was AWESOME!!

    Totally agree, Kass…..it was AWESOME!!

  3. This is exactly how he acts at home. EXACTLY!

  4. I think Stickam currently has only 25k members, acc. to the log I saw on their homepage..I def. think they will become far more popular, and soon..so, let’s hope that they greatly upgrade their hardware/software,all of it ..I know IICD had a few periods with exceedingly high traffic..ONCE ON APRIL 1 OF COURSE WHEN traffic was in the low millions, the others of course being far lower, but it certainly can be done on their end; now, Alex having to get a hold of an IICD level cam on his end might be more difficult…But I think it will improve.:biggrin He did such a Great job- I noticed Katie Stevens wants to get on there too…

  5. WOW That Alex was a SUPER BUSY man today…the writing sess. with Rune Westberg, the Stickam show, band practice, and a recording session, with Dillon Pace, Mandi Perkins, and Rick S.- he’s Such a Go-getter and REALLY WANTS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. gwen lambert:
This is exactly how he acts at home.EXACTLY!

Aw Gwen, it’s so nice to know he feels comfortable enough with the snaf to be himself on camera  You must be so proud!

  7. gwen lambert:

Gwen…Thanks for sharing. When it comes to Alex, we SNAF love the whole package. That fun personality is a big part of why we can’t get enuf of him. Glad he’s comfortable enuf to be himself with us.

Your Alex – he’s so genuine, quick-witted, funny, and amazingly talented! You must be so proud!

  9. That was awesome!! Even tho it was choppy, (hon) hee hee he had no clue what I was talking about!! Hes so funny!! Its good to know that Alex doesn’t need to put on a show to impress. He is so NATURALLY charming, engaging and delightful to watch! Star qualities for sure.

Thanks for the comment Gwen, so glad you finally got to see it!

  10. I am proud. And I was thinking he’s been communicating with you all for so long now it’s like you’re family!

  11. So nice of you to stop by, Gwen! You know what I appreciate most about Alex? Is that he doesn’t spend all these sessions talking about himself–he always turns the tables and asks the fans questions–like what’s their favorite song, etc. And you can tell, he REALLY wants to know! I also think it’s so sweet that he wants to pronounce these crazy screen names correctly–like he doesn’t want to offend anyone by getting it wrong. Also, @Linda’s comment about the stream being “choppy, hon (honey)” is a perfect example. Alex replies, “I’m sorry, but I don’t know what “choppy hon” means”. LOL You can tell that he feels bad!

I still remember from his Skype sessions at the Dream House; Alex always was curious about the fans calling in, asking them really good questions (because most of them were dumbstruck and couldn’t think of thing to say except giggle–except @Kass, of course. -_-) I mean, they were professional interview quality questions. I was so impressed at the time.

I was unable to see the Stickam session live, but I’ve been watching the YouTubes. What strikes me is the EASE at which he sat there, staring into a webcam viewer. I agree, @Linda, his personality just shined through. I’m thrilled that Alex had such a great turnout for this session!

I’ve come up with a silly name for these Stickam thingys: SNAF FEST Whaddaya think? I think I need more coffee this morning!

  12. I think Diane is on to something..Alex needs to patent or whatever it is you do the word “snaf”- that could be an excellent marketing tool ..it makes peope ask what’s it mean? etc… then print it on merchandise…

    • @alleycatfan – snaf! Patent! Totally! It’s a great name – gets people interested – and way more fun that “glamberts” for example.

@Diane haha thanks :) If you had any idea how nervous and dumbstruck I actually was… but anyway, I’m glad it didn’t come off that way. Those Skype sessions were truly one very great aspect of IICD… but thanks to Alex now we have Stickam! Yay!

@Gwen That’s the second time you’ve made me go aww today. Haha yeah I guess we do feel like family. But it’s the openness of your family – all of you – to us that lets us feel that way <3

      In other news...

Did you all see what @TeamAlexLambert tweeted? Alex was the #7 most watched Stickam stream yesterday!! http://twitpic.com/4g5nz0

Plus don’t forget about today’s fundraiser if you’re in the area!!

  13. I’m supposed to be working on my taxes, but you know how that goes…

Just thought I’d mention that the songwriter Alex worked with yesterday co-wrote Daughtry’s No Surprise, the first single off his second record. Sounds like there still is an Idol connection for Alex, which is a relief.

Speaking of taxes, @Gwen, if you’re reading…please make sure that Alex files a tax return by April 18th, or at least files an extension by that date. Failure to file penalties are steep, and I’m sure he had taxable income for 2010, between Idol and IICD. Sounds silly, but plenty of folks get into tax trouble (like that Survivor guy and Fantasia, to name a few reality stars), and it only gets worse as the years go by and the penalties mount. Anyway, that’s my public service message for today. I’m a tax preparer, so I’d be happy to do it for him…no charge, of course.

    • @Diane You mean a 19E connection? Yeah…
Can you do my taxes too please? Haha j/k…tho only cause I don’t live in the US. I turn mine in late every year I hate them so much :(

Awwww Gwen! Thank you so much for your comment! It almost made me tear up a little bit. It’s really our pleasure to support Alex! It’s not only his incredible talent which draws us to him, but also his genuine and wonderful personality. It’s really an honor to follow him on his journey. It’s also amazing that he has brought so many people together, and we have all actually become friends. We wish Alex and all your family the best always!

  15. I really enjoyed the “SNAF FEST” on Stickam last night (love that description Diane)!!! It was hard to keep up with the crazy pace of it all….but it was so worth it!! Can’t wait for more! Just gotta send out a huge thank you to you Gwen~ for sharing Alex with all of us! He has made such an impact on all of our lives! We are here to support him…always!

  16. Yay!! This was the first live Stickam chat I got to watch. Glad I didn’t miss this one and glad so many people turned out!

    P.S. Hi Gwen!!!

  17. Awww…Gwen, it’s so nice of you to drop in. You know we love your son like crazy, so having you recognize us is just the icing on the cake.

Personally, I had trouble logging in to Stickam and the feed was awfully choppy, but you know what? I’m so psyched about it! Alex broke Stickam! The site just couldn’t handle all the viewers who wanted in. That, my dear snaf, is STAR POWER. Ya-hoooooooo! I hope Alex is very, very happy. He should be.

I think I better get to work on FanFest before we can’t handle the crowd. What do y’all think? I’d love early summer if that fits with Alex’s plans.

One final word (I never really have a final word, but let’s pretend). Isn’t Alex the most incredibly talented, funny, and genuine natural-born entertainer? We need more Alex’s in the world — people who bring music, humor, love, and inspiration.

  18. gwen lambert: I am proud. And I was thinking he’s been communicating with you all for so long now it’s like you’re family!

Aww Thats sweet of you to say Gwen, thanks for shaing your family with us, you all are awesome! And it cant be easy, but just know we all have nothing but Alex’s best interests at heart. Cant wait to see his dreams come true. We will support him through thick and thin. Your boy has great character, and that says volumes!!

  19. gwen lambert: I am proud. And I was thinking he’s been communicating with you all for so long now it’s like you’re family!

Aww Gwen, Thank you. That means so much to all of us. Alex is truly one in a million. Not only will we support Alex always, we will support his family always too. Like Katherine said, Alex brought a bunch of strangers together and made us all friends. I am so glad he can feel comfortable with all us snaf, now. He is such a pleasure to watch and listen to.

  20. gwen lambert:
This is exactly how he acts at home.EXACTLY!

Hi! I’m very happy to know that I watched Alex sing exactly the same he does at home. So the special smile is for his family ! I get it !

  21. I too love these Stickam sessions. They really allow the true Alex to emerge, the infectious soul that soon will be a household name. I am constantly amazed at the comfort he has achieved in front of the camera within a year. While I was watching Idol the other night I heard JoLo tell a contestant that part of performing was acting. I remember that when Alex was on Idol he found it difficult to “act” for the cameras. It is apparent through these sessions that Alex does not need to act, that he is just naturally entertaining and as Gwen says acts exactly how he does at home. I love that Alex is the real deal!!!

Thank you Gwen. It was nice of you to stop by. I’m so happy for Alex and I appreciate all that he is sharing with his snaf!

I also found these tips on lagging video.

    http://blog.stickam.com/index.php/2011/02/02/tips-and-tricks-my-video-is-laggychoppy%E2%80%A6-what-can-i-do/

I tweeted it to Alex and I hope he reads it. It may be helpful. Unfortunately if he wants a better feed, he may have to turn off his guest cameras.

  22. @Lauren – it could also have had something to do with the bandwidth being better at Olympia’s than where he was Friday?? But, I agree with the guest cameras.

  23. I was lurking at idolforums.com again , and was VERY surprised to find another Alex fan thread there..that was brought back to Season 9 disc. front pg. Anyway, that thread has nearly 172,000 views(99 percent of which were compiled through mid-fall, based on most recent comment) to go along with his other separate fan thread with about 230,000. So when I posted a few weeks ago that he had nearly matched all the Season 9 top 12 in views when I totaled up ALL of their threads at 275 k views back on OCT.1 . that was nothing Alex with this other fan thread would have 400,000 total views compared to the Top 12 total of 275k(as of Oct.1,2010)…So his STAR POWER is even more Potent than we first thought
He’s a SUPERNOVA, blinding all around HIM.

  24. Janet:

Janet – I would love to start making plans. I don’t know how we can do that when we don’t have show dates. June seems to be the best time, but we need Alex to give us some dates. If you know something that I don’t, send me a secret spy message and I’ll be sure to buy my tickets tout de suite. hehe.

That is so true, SUPERNOVA. When they announce a label signing things are going to go CRAZY! Look at the Stickam turnout from Friday night. He’s got fans….lots of fans all over the world. They just need some news and things will blow up. I can’t wait!

  26. TRUE THAT @Cathy..AND very importantly, I keep going back to those numbers that I’ve read on other forums over these many months that Alex received 1.6 Million viewers(at its peak) on April 1,2010, for his IICD DEBUT,acc. to “Digital Spy”..which is an OVER THE TOP-INSANE number for a web-based show and LIVE, And, of course we know some share a screen so the real number of viewers was higher than 1.6 million. And God knows how many of his fans don’t have live-feed capabilities, or have no computer, and countless others who knew nothing of his IICD premiere..SO, when these Alex SNAF get re-ignited with NEWS ..THAT IS THE POTENT TINDER-BOX THAT WE ARE WAITING ON!!!

    Hell Yeah! lol.

  28. I’ve said this a million times: Alex’s tone is delicious! such a lovely, lovely voice. I think he has the best raspy voice I’ve ever heard. His rendition of the Adele song was great esp. that little run he did at 9:14 first vid was so good and he’s not even singing 100%. SInce i dont go to twitter that often, can someone pls tell him to finish this song???? Anyhow, that’s all I know y’all agree with me….
