When Olympia told Alex his voice was so incredible,and at the highest level,along with John Lennon,Aguilera,and someone else-forgot who-it was like-he’s really gonna be at that level.I think its really sinking in with Alex,and its kind of maybe mind-blowing for him…I mean highschool football player senior year transforming into this potential icon…
I don’t mean to play devil’s advocate here, but…do we think that IICD rigged this contest? Is it possible that Jordyn just got the most votes? I know that most of us wanted Andy. It also appears that most everyone on DU wanted Andy. I think that maybe there is a silent majority watching IICD. I think that the same people who “disliked” the Melons also voted for Jordyn. Maybe they are the same people who voted for Tim Urban on AI. HaHa
I have said this before. Most of the people who post on this board really know their music. Most of you have really good musical taste. Maybe the majority of people who silently watch the show don’t have such good taste in music. Maybe they are just following the crowd and going with the Taylor Swift lookalike. I will say that because she’s a country singer she might have an OK chance. We really don’t know what her personality is like. Who knows maybe she’ll be a real firecracker. Maybe Andy will still visit.
Anyway, I think we are in the proverbial lull before the storm. Once Labor Day is behind us, things are going to get exciting. I hope.
Alleycatfan, I agree it must be mind-blowing for Alex to hear something like that. I agree with Olympia. We’ve seen it all along. The rest of the world is gonna get it soon!!
@Yves, you’re welcome! The Upper East side is pretty good. Good luck w/ the trip planning and I hope Alex will return to NY soon. It would be cool to all meet up for that, fingers crossed that he does, even if I have to wait till October, lol

Do you think both girls are moving in?? I know Alex said he wanted Jordyn to move in, did that sway anything?? This might get interesting.
I’m back, tired but now feeling better (after wine). I just got down to the coast, unloaded and am connected. Linda I don’t know if Atlanta is the best airport for you, but we can arrange it later. I will go and my son wants to visit a college in the city, so it’s not all about Alex. I am dying to do this with the group. Obviously, there is a strong probability of him writing with Espionage, since it was already in the works. This should happen, but Alex Lambert better give us enough advance notice. Listen up Alex!!

@I would rather have had Andy move into the house. She offered something the house has always lacked, (I’ll say it again DIVERSITY) and I loved her voice and personality. I suppose y’all remember Alex wanting Jordyn to move in because of her looks.
@I won’t miss Kara D.; although, she did get better this season. I was hoping for Shania Twain to be a judge. She was a great mentor to the contestants and always had meaningful feedback. I suppose her funniest moments was with John Parks. She cracked me up, something about liking his lower end.

Like you mentioned, Lauren, I hope a New York writing session and potential performance isn’t sprung on you guys at the 11th hour. If he’s going next week, it should be mentioned now, not wait until Tuesday while he’s packing to head to the airport. I still think he’ll be in town for the VMA’s which are Sunday the 12th (in the audience, at minimum), so he’s either gonna go next week for a few days, or they might just wait until the week of the 13th.
I’m sharing a brain with snuffles. I disliked Kara the minute she opened her mouth–actually before she opened her mouth. Her body language was just a total turn off; the way she used to hunch over the microphone making her pronouncements made me wince. I actually used to mute the TV during Season 8 when she started talking. You could say I stopped watching AI religiously last year because of her. So obviously, I was not alone.
This long weekend is probably gonna be pretty low-key around the Dream House. I wish the Melons or the twins would come over. It’s a shame that Alex had to record a song after such a hectic week of performing and non-stop rehearsals. His voice was probably shot from all that. I doubt if he’ll do any recording this weekend, everybody’s probably split for the holiday weekend. {{apologizes for the stream of consciousness paragraph

Sorry, I don’t think Andy can rise to superstardom any more than Jordyn can.
I also don’t want to hear either one of them try to blend their voices with Alex’s. If one of them gets a duet on his album I’m going to get so mad I’ll pass out.
There are plenty of Idol rejects who are much more talented. Even… some of the awesome So You think You Can Dance contestants write music and take vocal lessons.
Well – Alex is mock-cleaning/freshening some clothes. He sprayed cologne on his Free Lil Wayne t-shirt then put it in the dryer along with some jeans. He then went walking around the dream house, up to Ben’s room and looked in some of Ben’s drawers (didn’t remove anything). Then went in Ben’s bathroom, then punched the speed-bag a few times. Then went into the GR for a few seconds, came out, and went back downstairs. Pretty sure he got rested up to go see his girl again.
where’s Alex? did he leave already? that kid is just stealthy huh? I saw him getting ready now he’s “poof” thought we’ll get to see some ALex jammin… oh well it is friday night after all.
I’m watching too, and it’s a kick trying to figure out what he’s up to. I figured it was a visit with the gf, (caught the cologne on the shirt routine-hee!) but part of me thinks he’s doing something musical. Seems like he ran the bathtub water for a long time in that way he does to loosen up the crud in his throat. It didn’t sound like the shower. Now he’s in the PBR doing his scales. Could he be going out to watch Mark Renk or something along those lines?
I feel like Gene Hackman in that movie The Conversation. I’m sitting here with my headphones on, trying to interpret every little sound…
Poof! Back in the house! He’s playing piano – my guess, while he waits for his girl to pick him up! At least he’s doing something constructive. Though he should be signing Cathy’s photo and getting that out in the mail to her!! (It was Cathy, right??)

I can’t believe how much of the caller’s conversation you can pick up from the microphone! I know I’ve read that on DU and I always thought that seemed pretty amazing (like someone had amazing sound system on their computer), but now that I’ve heard it myself I’m pretty blown away.
Yves, I’d say he was definitely talking to the gf, although it sounds like they really hadn’t firmed up their plans yet for the evening. And I agree that moving around is his way to ditch the cameras and our nosy snooping. Alex said something about hangin’ with the twins. Then he took another call (some guy) and said don’t tell the details on camera, text me instead. I’m always so impressed with how in-tune he is with his surroundings.
Now he is taking the manual Fiesta to the store and it sounds as if his gf had just left her place to pick him up. He said he would probably be back from the store before she gets to the dream house to pick him up. The store – more boxers???!

I logged on in time to see Alex talking to his girl and leaving the house. When I checked in earlier he was eating some take out food and i thought he better be watching his weight with all the take outs he eats. Then he was on piano and then he fell asleep in his room, and I logged out for a while. And logged back in just few minutes before he left the house. Now he is gone for the night. They put “seeing girlfriend” again. If he has a manager/publicist they’ll tell him young teen fans dont like that girlfriend flaunting thing – that’s why young male singers tend to say they are single.
Ok I’m kind of confused about the Jordyn announcement moving in. The poll on IICD site said Andy won with 38%. So they are just going by Myspace only? Why have two polls on official site. Are they both moving in now. Actually, when I first saw the poll I wasnt that concerned about voting since I’ve been wanting Veronica back or Katie Stevens my second favorite after Alex on idol. So i just thought maybe its good to move both Andy and Jordyn in since they have option for both so I just clicked on that. Then I decided to look into both of them more through their myspace and I remembered Jordyn’s forehead more than I remembered her average singing. I thought Andy has a pretty voice, but her style of singing is a bit Jazzy for me like Corine Bailey Ray, but after looking more at her stuff I saw that Andy actually has good potential cause she is pretty, and can act, has done a commercial, she models and sings too – and she does them all well. And she has been doing things that this show’s exposure can take her to another level so I voted for Andy on myspace poll a couple times. I think she has the desire focus and looks to be a star like another African/European mixed actress Thandie Newton who was Tom Cruises leading lady in mission “impossible/” Andy moving in is good for diversity and will bring in another set of viewers when she’s used to market to them. And they can have both move in since Kara is likely leaving soon.

Ahhh damnit! The big fans (us and DU) are finally getting punished for reading too much into the IICD behind-the-scenes (i.e. assuming the myspace votes we just for “fun”!) Our votes should count tenfold!
@Cathy – I couldn’t help but react to what you wrote about musical taste. Are you saying that the people who voted for Jordyn have bad taste in music? That doesn’t really seem right to me. I would’ve voted for her, simply because her sound is closer to what I like to listen to. Does that mean that I have a bad taste in music? I don’t think that listening to less commercial and more ‘different’ music, like Andy’s, is better than listening to what’s playing on the radio. In my opinion there isn’t such a thing as good or bad taste in music, because people like different things. Should I vote for Andy because she’s considered to be more “original”, even if I personally like Jordyn’s music more? I don’t think so. They’re both talented musicians!
Sorry to rant like this, it just bugs me when people talk about good/bad taste in music. I can’t even keep count of the times that I’ve been told I have “bad” taste in music, and you really do get tired of it after a while. We all listen to the music we enjoy, and let’s just leave it at that?

Chrilly – I didn’t mean to imply that you or anyone else has bad taste in music. I suppose I didn’t really articulate myself well. My point is this. Most of the people who post here really understand music and are able to specifically say what it is that they like and don’t like about a musician. From my experience, a big chunk of the population is less able to understand what it is they like. (I include myself in this category.) Therefore, we might be more inclined to choose a more mainstream performer. Based on what I’ve read here and on DU I was under the impression that Andy has a more unique voice. Andy’s uniqueness seems to be what people wanted in the house. I never said that Jordyn’s voice was not good.
Most posters here seemed to be disappointed the Jordyn had been selected over Andy. I was reading between the lines, mostly on DU, where people were implying the vote had somehow been rigged. The point of my devil’s advocate comment was that it HAD NOT been rigged and that Jordyn had, in fact, gotten the most votes. I feel like the reason she got the most votes was because there are people watching the show and voting who do not share our opinion about Andy. Apparently, the majority of people voting preferred Jordyn’s style to Andy’s and that is OK.
Well I am off again for the weekend, so I am counting on everyones wonderful updates, even though there doesn’t seem to be much going on….Regarding Jordyn, I have always said that she is gorgeous and clearly has talent, although her type of music, and, (as some else so eloquently said it), cookie cutter looks, does not appeal to me, I dont want to take anything away from this girl, but I was just hoping IICD would somehow break the mold for once and maybe go with what the viewers, not the MYspace people (who probably dont even watch IICD), want, and not how much money they can make (ha ha, right, like that would ever happen), it just kinda makes me mad that they would put up a poll, and more than likely read all the DU comments, from people who actually watch the show showing thier support for Andy, and still go with Jordyn. Makes me

Cathy – It’s okay, it was just something about the good/bad taste in music that I felt like I had to get out there. But I get what you meant,and I agree with people that say Andy would be more interesting for the show, because she is different from everyone there. I do, however, think that most people who vote don’t really think about whether or not the person they vote for would bring something new to the show. Of course I can only speak for myself, but I thought more about which cd I’d be more likely to buy :)

I agree, shadow, that the garage guys are doing Alex a disservice by putting “seeing girlfriend” in the status on his icon. Even though it’s true, it is a little jarring for casual IICD stream watchers who haven’t a clue about his dating life. It would be different if she’s been on camera in the house and an established figure, the way certain ex-gf’s were. I think it would be more prudent to just say “hangin’ w/ friends”; especially since he’s gone overnight. Just sayin’.
Have fun to all you guys with Labor Day weekend plans! I’ll be home all weekend, but as I mentioned in a post last night, I think it will be pretty dead at the Dream House until Tuesday. Guess I’ll actually have to focus on “real life” issues for once.

Yes, I believe Alex is still a popular topic, post-Idol. Hopefully that will still be true up until album release date, if we all continue to help keep his name out there.
Been busy and, apparently, missed a lot. So, do I understand that they’re moving Jordyn in? No shock there, just disappointment. She’s okay, but it would have been nice to have a little more diversity, both in looks and talent, on the show. Frankly, I don’t really care. The show is awfully boring right now.
I agree that they shouldn’t be posting that Alex is “With Girlfriend” on the site. Definite turn-off for the younger girls watching. She’s never been seen on camera. There’s no good reason to do it. Stupidest production crew around.

I logged in once today for 10 mins.,and saw Gig in her tweet sess.and 2 hilarious bits.She saw Lee Dewyze at a party at “Dre’s”, and she said he was drunk,and was singing into her ear,and he said girls love him now that he’s won ,inferring that she should to,and Gig said -good for you- ,and walked away :lol:.Then she said she’s hung out with Big Mike 2,or3 times outside the house,and the first time she had no idea who he was,and thought he was a bouncer,following them around,and when she got to know him she really got along well,and she said he’s a lot of fun,and like a big Teddy bear…

Ok, I don’t like spreading rumors (maybe I do lol) but a saw some twitter chatter about Allison Iraheta. Some were speculating that she has been dropped by Jive. The thing was that she has be completely removed from their Artist listing on the Jive website. I checked and there is nothing there on her. Some were saying that this is how it usually starts but they probably wait until she finished her tour before making an official announcement.
If true, I feel bad for her. She was not my cup of tea, but seems a nice girl. It’s too bad.
Poor Alli. I heard she wanted to start a band with Orianthi (which she totally should). Orianthi can rip a guitar to shreds, but girl can’t sing. Both are young girls with a love for rock. They should go indie.
About Gig… That’s freakin’ hilarious!!! I can imagine her ‘err whatever’ ‘tude towards Lee. Heehee… To be honest, I won’t want Lee singing into my ear.
That would give me nightmares (or a burst ear drum). That boy needs to watch the alcohol or he might reprise whatever it was he did in highschool. (I still haven’t figured that out yet!) And thinking that Big Mike was a bouncer. Who could blame the girl!

That’s usually the first sign of being dropped. I sure hope the label was kind enough to sit her down and tell her. Too often, artist aren’t told and learn through rumor and gossip. Then they have to go through the humiliating step of asking their label if they’re still signed.
RE: Teaming up with Orianthi
I’m crossing my fingers that this happens! You’re right with Allison’s voice and Orianthi’s insane guitar skills they would make a killer rock duo. While touring with Adam this summer, they DID talk about it. They’re both managed by 19 so it COULD happen. The only obstacle would have been that they were not only on different labels but different label groups (Sony and Universal). So Allison being let go from Jive could be the first step in making Allison/Orianthi happening.
They should both go away for about a while and work on re-branding themselves.
I like Big Mike, and wish he could spend more time in the Dream House jammin’ with Alex on a soulful vibe. He has a wife and baby in New York state, so it’s unlikely to happen.
I cracked up when he spotted leftover cake in the kitchen and helped himself to a piece announcing “I love birthday cake!”
Since he was a personal trainer/wedding singer before Idol, I wish Mike would get Alex on a simple workout schedule that would be a no-brainer and easy to accomplish every day.
You know it’s a slow weekend when the topic is Allison getting dropped by Jive.
Yeah, she’s kinda doomed–between her dismal album sales and poor radio charting, to the ending of the Sony label relationship with AI–she doesn’t really stand a chance. I don’t know what Jive was thinking anyway, not every singer should be a solo recording artist. I think Jordin Sparks might be the next Jive artist in trouble. Her 2nd album sales were really poor and she only had one successful single off of it, I think (Battlefield??)
Anyway, back to Alex. I wonder if he finally hooked up with Andrew Garcia, or he’s just been hanging with the gf and baby Melons. I really think he wants Andrew to hear his material and give him some constructive feedback.
RE: MySpace contest
So did Jordyn only win the MySpace VOTE? Because I’m pretty sure there is some small print on there saying that the voting is “just for fun” and has no bearing on who IICD will actually move into the Dream House. So if the SHOW wants Andy, they’ll put in Andy.
I say it ain’t over until one of them knocks on that door and moves in.
I didnt check IICD yesterday. Only Gig’s avatar is showing home now. I didnt look but she’s probably kicking some ball or playing loud music and wishing she’s out clubbing. The others are out – its holiday weekend. The idols are done with touring and Alex will likely hang with Andrew and the others, when he’s not with new girl and the melons.
Cathy: I think part of the reason Jordyn won myspace poll but didnt win the other IICD poll is because she had a big campaign with her myspace followers. I saw she was bugging all of them to send to other myspace friends and post every where they can for people to vote for her, and they told her they were, and one even came to Dreamupdates to campaign. She was using tweeter too. Andy did tweet a couple times for people to vote, but I don’t even know if she has myspace – she does have a website but not with fans. You said Andy has more of a unique voice. I noticed Jordyn’s voice is a bit squeaky and I dont like that about her voice. But she sings country and there is a market for that and they may like that kind of voice. I think Andy’s voice is more towards the soprano range, which is pretty and considered best quality for female voice – and that’s what I prefer. But her music is a bit on the jazzy side. I’m not crazy about jazz, but I like that she acts and has done a correspondent interviewing movie stars, and modeling, a commercial. She has the look that given exposure can help get jobs – she has that sophisticated pretty international vibe too. Maybe Andy will only visit and Jordyn moves in. The show is getting boring anyway, it doesn’t matter which of them moves in, cause 90% of the time I don’t watch the others anyway. I’d rather watch Sam when he visits. And I’m more of an Idol fan so I look forward to next season of that and the contestants coming.
I’m not surprised the record label dropped Allison Iraheta. She didn’t sell much at all. And they didnt give her good songs to release as a single. I only heard a couple songs she sang on idol and those weren’t strong songs. I don’t think they had a plan of keeping her for more than 2 CD. I don’t even think she got to release a second CD. Anyway, she’d still young and Idol already got her name out there. She can do something later on with her career and join the others on broadway shows in the meantime. I hope coming season they seriously choose people who can be stars and sell.
I like that Randy and the rocker Steven Tyler are in – hope they put J-Lo there with them too. J-lo knows how to be a pop/R&B/hip-hop star, and will pick the ones who have the package to be on the chats and be stars and not bunch of singer songwriter/indie types like this season that ended and lost idol more viewers. I know she will love Tori Kelly if she auditions this season. She better be in top 24 if she auditions again. I posted about her in another thread that she was in Hollywood round in Alex season, and got cut even though she’s very good, and pretty too with star quality. (I tried to post links to her singing Beyonce’s ‘halo’ and her youtube channel with other songs but there are no mods around here yet to let posts with links go through.)

sorry to disagree about big mike but seeing only the bits shown on Idol and in the Dream House, I think he is very self centered and obnoxious. Other Idols seemed to like him but that might have been because they were intimidated by his size.
IICD has gotten boring, no doubt. I think the high points were when Alex would greet the Idol rejects each Friday when they would visit the house. Then there was when Jason Castro and his group visited. Come to think of it, it was Alex who made all of this interesting. Without Alex being added to the house, I doubt any of the above would have happened, or would have been even a bit interesting.
@snuffles – I don’t think it would be possible for the show to rely entirely on the MySpace votes, there’s too much “vote for me and I’ll vote for you” going on over there. So yeah, of course IICD has the final say. But Jordyn tweeted that her moving in is official, so it seems they agree with the voters this time.
And while we’re on the matter… I know that it probably doesn’t matter anymore, but I made the top 10 this week! I’m really happy about that, even though they’ve already picked their female singer. Top 10 is freakin’ awesome!
