Don’t forget… to watch Alex Lambert tomorrow, November 2nd, on the musical TV game show ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’!

Alex Lambert is appearing as a celebrity contestant during the show’s “American Idol Week”, and will be playing for the charity Feeding America, whose mission is to feed the country’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks.

‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’ is a newly resurrected game show featuring Mark McGrath (of Sugar Ray fame) in place of original host Wayne Brady. Contestants compete by singing along to five popular songs – and remembering the lyrics when they suddenly cut out. The other former ‘American Idol’ contestants playing this week are Bo Bice, Elliot Yamin, Taylor Hicks and Blake Lewis.

Tune in tomorrow to watch Alex’s antics and see how many songs he’ll get through before forgetting the lyrics! [SPOILER: Alex promised after taping the episode this past summer that he acted especially crazy and funny for our amusement!]

  1. Ok so, I have been listening to That Girl is Trouble over and over, and i have to say I think its my FAVOR-ITE song!!!! I really really hope its on his record…if not then.. :cwy:

  2. LindaW: Ok so, I have been listening to That Girl is Trouble over and over, and i have to say I think its my FAVOR-ITE song!!!! I really really hope its on his record…if not then..

Linda, I totally agree. It’s very catchy and fun.

I’ve seen too many Idol fans shocked and disappointed with how things turned out.And even worse, then they get it in their heads that if they band together they can DEMAND the record executives to bend to their will and just end up hurting the artist they’re trying to support.

Yeah… I could see us doing that… You sure it doesn’t work?! J/K! Although I think they expect it from us by now lol. It’s like the Alex fan thing to do – petition, band together, and DEMAND  But OK. We are forewarned, right guys?

I don’t expect “an album that’s 100% organically created by Alex, untouched by corporate greed” by any means. I know that’s not possible. I’m just hoping for an album that is less DWMEO and more I Didn’t Know, you know?
OK being realistic now… no one has control over whether it’s an instant smash hit or not… that’s up to a whole bunch of factors. BUT there’s no harm in being positive and creating a positive buzz, and if everything comes together properly it will be a hit, right?

Anyway this discussion’s been fun – thanks for the insight. But I must sleeeeep now. Later guys! (And seriously everyone – check out Lee’s new song! It’s great!)

Linda, “That Girl is Trouble” is my favorite song of Alex’s too.
Ever since I first heard him play it in his room that day. I love that song. I hope it is on his album too.

I think that one of the reasons for this fan site, as much as for Alex, is also for US, if WE can dream! As a complete music industry outsider, I have no idea of the machinations involved in getting a record out, or getting air time, etc. But, we can all hope for a little magic, and hope that everything falls in place for Alex. He’s TOO talented for a whole lot of people NOT to sit up and take notice. You go boy!

And how ridiculously cute is the picture Alex just tweeted of his baby brother?? Haha he really looks like Alex!

A triple Amen. A little magic is never impossible…and Alex has the magic. He also has the money men behind him because they know it. So, I anxiously await his triple-platinum selling album. Positive thinking gang — it works.

  12. I Remember Alex saying on live stream he had an activity planned with his Dad in November…
I do prefer this Lee track to the single, but I can see where PD’s would choose Serendipity as more current with whats hot now,on radio…,but I prefer Live It Up-parts of it his voice sounds exactly like an artist I’ve heard a lot,and I’ll have to think about it before I can figure it out, maybe someone in the 90’s, not sure…

  16. 1.Thanks yal for apologizing and explaining yourselves…I had let it build up for quite some time and i finally let it all loose…lol…but it’s all good now…I am overall really just a fan of MUSIC in general and appreciate anything with a good beat and good lyrics…2.and yes Lee’s 2nd single “Live It Up” is Genius….sucha a good laid back, feel good song…3. to those of u who drunk tweeted with me last night…it’s greatly appreciated…lol..u kept me entertained at the bar…i ususally provide the entertainment when we go out but u guys had me on my toes last night…haha…i even called Jessica B. out on not being able to dance…i didn’t even remember until this morning…lol…she’ll prolly kill me if i ever run into her…lol…i love giving her a hard time…lol…4. whoever said alex said he had some November plans w/ his dad was right…I believe their hunting…it is hunting season…so i’m sure he’s out looking for some deer to take out…lol…~MaHaLo~

Hunting – that’s what I was thinking too, Phil. I was trying to google whether Texas has an “opening day” for firearms hunting season, like there is in Michigan, but I couldn’t find anything.

I know I have seen things about “deer camp”…I think they may get together for that, if thats what they are doing.

  19. @Marianne and @phillip @LindaW-the specific activity Alex said on live stream was hunting, but I was worried to say it,cuz it might offend a few,but hopefully people are realistic, that in Texas that is a big thing for Fathers to take their sons to…-you know me I’m a worrywort, thats why I didn’t say the H word-lol…

Oh I think I saw that too, was he talking to Jordyn about it?? Anyhoo, Not a big fan of hunting, but I dont get all weird about it either, its a big thing for some people. I moved to Mississippi from San Diego and Its huge here, I actually live out in the county and have to go flying into the house every time I hear a gunshot!! Big time deer season here right now. Poor Bambi lol.

  21. @Kass-there’s some similarities to Crows, but I’ll just have to watch some digital music channels randomly-it was really an exact match through half his vocals…

My husband and our boys aren’t hunters, but it is BIG here in Michigan. I can’t tell you how many people have told us that they used to hunt on our property. I’m not offended by it. A lot of folks saving on groceries in this tough economy by cooking up venison stews, chilis and steaks. Personally, I don’t like venison much.

Yeah, Bleh to venison, or anything gamey for that matter.

  24. EEEEEk!I tried venison once ,and there will NEVER be a twice!

  25. I’ve had venison on occasion. I’m not a big fan of it, but I will eat it. I do like venison bologna.
It doesn’t bother me if people hunt. I personally couldn’t kill a deer, or any animal (on purpose), except maybe certain insects, spiders, and some snakes. lol

  26. I just listened to Lee’s new song “Live It Up”. I like it.

  27. So my sleuthing paid off! I posted earlier that I thought there might be a Lambert-side family event. I had forgotten about the “deer season” conversation at the Dream House, but now that makes sense.

Don’t hunters traditionally get up well before dawn to head out on their journey? (or is that just duck hunters? lol) I’m chuckling just thinking about Mr. Lambert trying to get Alex out of bed at 5 am. That’s gonna be a tough one…

I’ve been an urban/suburban dweller all my life, and a left-coaster, so hunting is totally an abstract concept to me. I’m sure there’s a lot of nostalgia and good old-fashioned father-son bonding that takes place during events like this, even if they don’t “bag a buck”.

I have tried Elk, which is much milder than venison, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for any game meat–too strong!

  28. Alex tweeted pic of the little Mason Lambert listening to his song. Its a cute kid that looks like Alex — similar nose, lips, and shape of eyes.

Alex changed his twitter picture to the one he said he took in the studio he stays at – he looks like the punk ass boy he is in his new avatar.

Its good to see Alex is still writing songs with those song writers. I hope they come up with another song with a cool vibe like “That girl is trouble.” Alex can put the song he wrote before idol “Tired of waiting” on the CD too — it has a good melody. I was reading Katie Steven’s tweets and she’s very excited about meetings she’s having, and songs she’s writing, and it sounds like good things are happening for her. She said she just wrote a song that people will wanna dance to with Hodges and drh3. I’m glad to hear Katie is likely recording songs I know will fit her Pop/soul vibe and will be radio friendly. She has that Christina Aguilera voice and is marketable. She’s working out too to get in shape. Katie is a determined focused girl, and has been entering competitions since she was younger. I look forward to Katie and Alex releasing a CD cause they’re my most favorite this season. Just don’t put more than 1 or 2 ballads on a CD cause that gets boring. (I only like ballads when its Spanish music even though I dont know the language – I love Latin music especially David Bisbal my favorite singer.)

That new song of Lee “Live it up” is much better – they should have released that first. It has a John Mayer vibe and showcases his voice well. I’m not surprised that “sweet serendipity” is in the 300’s on itunes and not selling much like Diane said. Its just an odd song with his fast pace singing and tongue twisting lyrics – a lot of people wont even know what serendipity means. Why give a song a title people that people may need dictionary for. And I don’t know why they don’t release the best songs first. Kris Allen CD would have sold more and catch people’s attention if they released his song “Written all over my face” first. Its a pretty good catchy uptempo song that’s radio friendly, and has a Maroon 5 vibe. That song and his cover of Kanye’s “Heartless” are the best on the CD. Even the “Red guitar” song that Kris wrote all by himself before idol that’s on the CD is better than his first single. His new single “All right with me” is catchy and fitting for last single – but first single is so crucial to set things off. His first single sold well, but there are better on his CD. It wasnt until I heard “heartless” that I paid attention. After listening to his CD on his site I realized he actually has a few good songs on the CD. Its an idol CD that deserves to sell close to platinum atleast, cause its mainstream and his voice sounds very good and its a well produced CD. I hope Alex’s CD will have good production quality like that and good beats.

Idol really need to have more hits by the new winners. Kelly Clarkson knows how to pick good singles to release first. There have been some big hits by her, Chris Daughtry, Carry Underwood and Jordin Sparks, and they get radio play. I don’t even hear David Cooke’s song on the radio, and I’ve even forgotten he won. I was listening to this Vevo link that has some of the videos of songs by idols contestant of 7 seasons. It shows there are some good songs that’s been released by idols. I didnt even know Blake Lewis released a video of a song “Break another” – its a cool song with cool club beats. And I read on Katherine Mcphee site that she actually released a christmas song for download last year that sold half a million singles on itunes, and because of that unexpected success she’s released a christmas CD this year. You can watch a lot of the idols videos here. I’ve enjoyed watching the ones I like. http://www.vevo.com/watch/playlist/americal-idol-videos-from-all-seven-seasons/6268#36

  29. Tracy: I’ve had venison on occasion.I’m not a big fan of it, but I will eat it.I do like venison bologna.
It doesn’t bother me if people hunt.I personally couldn’t kill a deer, or any animal (on purpose), except maybe certain insects, spiders, and some snakes.lol

So Alex went to Texas to hunt with family cause its a tradition or something. Well as long as its not something he does all the time and its just for tradition – they are from Texas and a house full of males. I don’t get hunting really. It doesnt bother me if people kill crocodiles, sharks and snakes cause they are deadly – but I think deers and antelopes are cute and graceful, and they are like my favorite forest animals. I saw that Kristy Lee Cook girl who was on idol has a hunting show. Its weird that a girl wants to be doing hunting – and she’s a pretty girl too. She just got signed again to another Country label. I thought she’s one of the idols they could have pushed for success. She has a nice voice and is very attractive, but Simon was trying to get her eliminated – I think at the time he saw her as likely competition at a time Carry Underwood was just being established as a country star.

  30. Saturday, November 6th, is opening day of hunting season for White-Tailed Deer (and wild turkeys) in Texas. Opening day is always kind of a big deal, tons of crazy folks out there shooting anything that moves. LOL Please wear a bright orange vest, Alex, keep your head down, and stay safe!!!

  31. Maybe Kristi Lee Cook will do a piece on Alex for the Outdoor Channel called- Hunting With Idols.
    I don’t really follow politics,but as i remember-I would steer clear of Dick Chaney,while hunting!!!…

  32. ETA-Cheney resides in Texas acc.to Google,so WATCH FOR HIM! :ninja:

  33. Diane: Opening day is always kind of a big deal, tons of crazy folks out there shooting anything that moves. LOL Please wear a bright orange vest, Alex, keep your head down, and stay safe!!!  (Reply)

Boy, you can say that again. People are crazy during hunting season.

  34. @Shadow — I was a fan of Kris Allen throughout his season, and I think his CD is pretty good too. I also like “Written All Over My Face”. Interestingly, my teenage son – who is NOT a fan of Idol, in general, and not very interested in any of the Idol alums – LOVES the song, “Can’t Stay Away”! After the first time he heard it he said it reminded him of Maroon 5. He also didn’t mind “Live Like We’re Dying”. I think WAOMF and CSA actually have a similar feel to them, so I think it’s strange that my son (who likes rap and some pop-even Taylor Swift!) would like CSA but not WAOMF. Funny boy, my Alex! I still haven’t been able to interest him in Alex Lambert.

  35. So Josh Skinner said he had he results to the poll he was running for favorite single and would post it yesterday afternoon…did anyone see anything, I am really curious. Alex had a alot of really nice comments in the comment section for I didnt know. I’m so impatient lol :pinch:

    • Josh just tweeted: “Yikes! Sorry but due to technical difficulties the new Idol single video will be up monday. Hate keeping this secret. Over 400 votes.”

However, don’t be too eager: I did a quick count-up of the tweets and comments people left… Alex got a lot of votes AFTER the deadline of October 31st since we posted so late, so I don’t know if Josh will bend the rules and count those, but even so it looks like he didn’t win :( …unless Josh got a lot of votes for Alex by e-mail.
Sorry my fault for being sick and not dragging my ass out of bed to post about it sooner :( If we had I’m sure he would’ve won – there was an absolute flood of votes once people heard about it!
But there is still a chance if Josh counts the votes from November 1st and 2nd – it’s close! And he’ll have to get an “honorable mention” because he was the only real contender to David Archie’s Crush.

  36. LindaW: So Josh Skinner said he had he results to the poll he was running for favorite single and would post it yesterday afternoon…did anyone see anything, I am really curious. Alex had a alot of really nice comments in the comment section for I didnt know. I’m so impatient lol   (Reply)

I went on Josh’s web site and asked him what the results were and he e-mailed me back that first his web site was having problems right when he was trying to download the video and then, in the middle of that he was informed that a friend he went to college with had passed away! He said it would prolly be Monday and I told him that he has all of our condolences. He said it was a sad weekend and he just had to make it thru it. How sad!

  37. After I had sent him condolences back he responded that life is hard sometimes but it was great to have friends. He also said to send all his love to the Alex friends and that the vote was very close and he hoped he didn’t let the Alex fans down, so that doesn’t sound real hopeful. But, what a nice guy!

  38. cw: After I had sent him condolences back he responded that life is hard sometimes but it was great to have friends. He also said to send all his love to the Alex friends and that the vote was very close and he hoped he didn’t let the Alex fans down, so that doesn’t sound real hopeful. Well I thought it would be kinda slim for Alex only because he isnt as well known as David A. But the pure fact that it was close and Alex’s name was even in the running since technically he has had no REAl “radio” play, (even though I count IHeartRadio as Radio play lol) says a whole lot about Alex.

  39. cw: After I had sent him condolences back he responded that life is hard sometimes but it was great to have friends. He also said to send all his love to the Alex friends and that the vote was very close and he hoped he didn’t let the Alex fans down, so that doesn’t sound real hopeful. Aw poor Josh…he really does seem like a really nice and sincere person.

  40. Marianne: Funny boy, my Alex! I still haven’t been able to interest him in Alex Lambert.

Marianne: I relly want to respond to your comment but atm I’ve ‘too many things in the fire’ to take the time to do it justice; for now, i’ll just say there are a lot of young boys out there like ‘your alex.’

  41. LindaW:
Aw poor Josh…he really does seem like a really nice and sincere person.

    Awww I love Josh, he’s such a nice guy…hope he’s alright.

In regards to the competition, for being late and only having 1 day to vote and Alex’s song not even being an “official” single I think it’s pretty good that he was even in the running against David. And if anyone had to win over Alex I’m glad it’s Archie…he should have definitely won his season. Did anyone else cry during his “Imagine” song? I know I did.

Maybe in the future we could have a Lambert/Archuleta duet?

  42. I Heart Archie-Come On Over Archie fans!-ALEX said he’s a BIG fan, too, just after he moved in to the Dream House!!!

  43. Just getting a laugh over all the hunting comments. Although I have no desire to shoot any animal, a lot of the guys in my family are hunters. They really get excited about getting up in the middle of the night and freezing their butts off out in the woods for some reason. I guess it’s warmer in Texas than New York. Somehow, I find it hard to imagine Alex shooting and killing anything, but on the other hand I’m not surprised by it. It’s a real male-bonding experience. I hope he has a lot of fun. Sometimes, I think it’s more about the experience than the actual killing of animals. And, as long as you eat what you kill, I don’t see anything wrong with it.

Poor Josh. Sad for him. It doesn’t really matter if Alex wins. I wouldn’t count him out yet though. I have a feeling Josh is going to include ALL of the votes.

Still haven’t listened to Lee’s new song. Why am I so disinterested in the rest of the idols? BTW: Where did you guys get “That Girl is Trouble?” I can’t find it.

  44. @Janet – you have a message!!

  45. “I don’t know the words, but I’m sending the five thousand to char-a-tee!” My favorite part.

  46. I know @Janet-Alex had that line ,and MANY other Star-Turns.That would be a GR8 ep. for Simon,and/or Iain to show networks.Alex has the relatability, vivid screen presence, and natural comedy/acting skills to carry a variety show-I can think of Cher, and very few others ,ever, who could do that, successfully. He could market his singles,do skits/comedy,interact with guests, just,as Cher did-A relative got me Cher’s TV shows on DVD,at holidays, last year, and I loved it! Alex is one of the rare few,who could keep people coming back each week. There have been a couple ex-idols,who have tried just a holiday variety show, but they were extremely boring,on screen.But-with Alex- I’m talking about a weekly series…

  47. Oh, no, LindaW, Vodka and hockey go very well together if you’re a spectactor. LOL! Excitng but rough sport. I used to play with my brothers…when we were little. They got too big for me and, being my brothers, didn’t feel any need to ease up a little for me. After nearly breaking my neck — seriously — I stopped playing with them. Bastardos retardos. Good luck Marianne!

That Girl is Trouble definitely has a reggae influence. That’s one of my favorite Alex styles. I love his phrasing.

And, alleycatfan, I agree completely. It’s going to be awhile, but Alex has all the talent, besides the voice, to host a show. He’s so spontaneously funny and witty. And, I was a huge fan of the Sonny & Cher and then, just Cher, Show. My aunt, who’s only a a little older than me and my idol, was a big fan. She turned me onto it. I used to watch it with her and my grandmother. Thanks for bringing it up. Great memories.

Janet, go to DU and media, you will see it there. Hey Marianne, I went to a Hockey game tonight, Mississippi State against Auburn (Alabama) It was really fun! I can imagine having a son playing, I would probably be down on the ice beating the crap outta the other team. Exciting!! I have the feeling Vodka and hockey dont go together well tho lol,. Just kidding

Linda – that’s great you enjoyed it!! Who knew there was college hockey that deep south!? My son had a game last night too. My husband said he would sit with me if I thought I could behave!!! LOL! I did. . . I only yelled out “Home Cookin'” at the refs a few times!! Well – our team was in the penalty box waaaaaay more than the home team! C’mon!

Edit: Re: vodka — you mean for the spectators or the players?!! Ha, ha!! JK
