Well, we’ve all been waiting for this and it appears the time has come! Alex Lambert’s performance on “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” appears to be scheduled in certain areas for November 2nd.

Now, this listing might not appear in all time zones nor on all cable providers, so you will have to check your local listings and use your zip code to check and see what channel is broadcasting the show. If your television provider doesn’t air the episode on this date there will no doubt be a future showing and we will alert you at that time.

Stay tuned for further information & updates as they become available!

Update: If anyone needs help finding what channel and time the episode will be on in their area, leave your zip code and television service provider in the comments and we’ll reply to you with the info.

  1. I wasn’t sure whether to post this at all. It’s a recent interview with Andrew Bolooki. He co-wrote and is producing the demo for “Old Fashioned Girl”. It’s mostly about the Selena Gomez hit, but gives some of his background information. I love knowing more details about the co-writers/producers on Alex’ songs.

  2. Good find, Lauren! Andrew seems like a nice, down-to-earth guy. And if IRC, he got along fabulously with Alex (who doesn’t?)

I’m getting excited about an air date for DFTL. That means we might get a sneak peak preview from Lyndsey Parker soon about the episode. I wonder if VH1 is going to hold off airing these Idol episodes until January or later, to tie in more with the AI season? I hope some footage will be released soon…

  3. OH No, Not november second! I’m going to an All Time Low concert that day.

Diane: I was thinking they might hold off showing his episode till idol starts too, but Lee is releasing CD in November and the idol hype will start soon after that. I think I read here they recently showed “dont forget the lyrics” episodes of idol contestants like Taylor Hicks and Blake Lewis. Also, I was concerned they may hold off on Alex’s episode for a while once IICD season ended, but glad they’re showing it soon. They probably asked him about being on Idol too even though they did it mostly to promote him and IICD at the time. Btw, I responded to your Katie Stevens comment in the ‘group therapy’ thread.

I’ve seen new ‘dont forget the lyrics’ on Vh1 but don’t think I’ve seen it yet on CW. I have to check which one shows Alex on Nov 2

  5. At least Alex’s episode gets shown during November sweeps. TV shows usually show their “best” episodes during February, May and November. Sweeps in when they use the ratings to set the ad rates.

So Alex got a primo spot over winner Tayler Hicks and 2nd place finisher Blake Lewis.

  6. Ok, I checked my local TV schedule (according to my news paper’s ‘Weekly TV’). I get 3 channels that carry ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics’. These 3 channels air it a total of 9 times, at different times. I found 2 time slots that are the “celebrity” shows. I am hoping I can some how get it taped if I didn’t miss it already. I just discovered 2 of the channels airing it– today. I will try to get it too, if I can.
My channels are: VH1, WPHL (17) and WLYH (15).

  16. Molly – Thanks so much. I didn’t see those on my TV listing.

  17. No problem…here’s what I’m using so y’all can double check.
Be sure to check closer to the date to make sure it’s still accurate. :dizzy:

  18. Wow, thanks Molly! When I checked out my cable provider on the website that you posted above, the VH1 description actually listed Alex Lambert on that episode. I haven’t had much success on the actual VH1 website’s programming schedule. I think that I have found a way to copy, transfer, edit, and upload it. It works in theory, only in theory. At least I’ll have plenty of time to test it out before the 2nd.

  19. Yeah, Thanks Molly…

  20. It looks like a pretty safe bet that VH1 is airing the episode on November 2nd everywhere. Which confuses me, because I thought Vh1 picked up the episodes later than the initial air date. Also looks like Alex’s episode will be on in the evening in most time zones. Not sure what kind of audience they pull in during prime time, but I suppose it is better than during the day. According to my DirecTV schedule (thanks Molly for the link!), Bo Bice will be on in the morning episode that day, right after the Top 20 Countdown.

  21. Kassandra: FYI: John Park came in second on the Korean version of Idol: http://www.ainow.org/index.php/top-stories/3763-john-park-comes-in-second-on-korean-version-of-qamerican-idolq

I saw that. Kinda sucks. I heard that schlubby dude who won had a big sob story. Sometimes you have to wonder how much that affected the vote.

I hope John Park gets signed (in Asia). Between American Idol and going so far in this show, I think a label would want him. He’s got those K-Pop good looks too.

  22. Aww, it’s too bad John didn’t win. But being 2nd is pretty awesome too. I agree, I bet he will get signed, he’s so cute and a great singer.

I was looking around at videos of John and this boys group performance is hilarious!

Hmmmm. . . I know I’ve been checking each week and seeing DFTL on the CW channel here (channel 8 for me), but don’t see it listed anywhere when I check titantv? Do you think you could double check for me, Molly? Zip is 48367/Charter Communications (thumbs down on them, btw)

Thank you, Molly! It’s on my calendar, and no hockey game for Alex, so I will be glued to the tv!!

  26. Looks like Alex brought the Rangers good luck this year-he’s been wearing that Texas Rangers “flatbill” a great deal since April, and that team had NEVER been to the World Series in the history of their franchise…Something in the Stars for Alex in his career, and the Rangers…

Yep! Gotta admit – I kept scanning the stands for that particularly adorable, dimpled face – wearing that red “flatbill”! I’m sure he would have tweeted if he had been able to go! Maybe he’ll try to go to a Series game?!

  28. Gotta check the tv guide to see if Alex’s episode shows on CW and Vh1 same day as posted above. I know its on Vh1 though.

Alex tweeting “what’s the difference between you and me?” — the difference between you and us is you are a punk ass boy with adorable dimples and a very good voice. that’s the difference. :) He’s been in Texas over a week now, but he said its nice but cant wait to get to LA to the studio. After living in LA for 7 months he got adjusted to that environment too and made friends. And La has more people are pursuing the entertainment biz too.

Ok I’m glad for John Park that he at least got to second place. He has a good big voice and looks and marketable looks, but I felt the other guy Hu Gak deserved to win based on voice and talent, cause he has more range and great voice even though he doesnt have the looks or star quality, but he has personality. After Snuffles posted about the Korean competition couple days ago I went to youtube and check it out. I found an early audition of John Park singing side by side with Hu Gak the guy who won and I immediately liked Hu Gak’s voice cause he can sing from high to low, and just a great pleasant voice that’s good for recording. But I couldnt understand the language so I thought he was eliminated or something, cause he acted sad and John was hugging him. I thought wow they eliminated this guy cus he’s not attractive and chubby or something. Then I saw other rounds and he was still there, so I thought ok they have credibility. I wasnt sure he’d win cause of his appearance. But they did give them makeover and improved his looks – but they should have left John Park’s old hairstyle alone. Anyway, from reading korean American site that’s in English John will get signed cause he’s already very popular there cause he was on American idol and from America.(although some thinks he’s over hyped and Hu deserves it) John has looks and voice and he can do well there. Here is a video of Hu Gak and John singing same song together at the audition. Hu Gak is in yellow T-shirt. (He wore white at the start of the show. ) They said he and John became good friends. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPxhJ53zD9U&NR=1

  29. @Shadow-Hmm-looks like even though Season 9 was scoffed at -they may wind up with the HIGHEST percentage of signed artists from any season.Lee,Casey, and Crystal.Alex, likely in the near future. Then Aaron Kelly,I have heard has a shot at Capitol Records Nashville, based on some posts I read at idolforums. Then,Katie seems likely to go to some label, based on her tweets. And now John Park,a likely signee….Interesting…

  30. By the way, here is another guy that was on same Korean competition Super K with John Park and Hu Gak. They are the 3 that stood out to me. He came 4th. I really like his big interesting voice after seeing this performance below. His only 17yrs old and his name is Kang Seung Yoon (or Seungyeon. They keep spelling it different ways which is typical of Asians) A song he did on the show is already climbing the charts they said. He has a big special voice that’s more rock like and a bit operatic in a way like Josh Groban. But his voice and vibe reminds me a bit of a very popular Spanish rock singer Enrique Bunbury, who was lead singer of “heroes del silencio.’ Here is the video of Kang Seung performing on the Korean competition Super K. I liked it and his voice. I like the the way they darken the set with green stained glass windows all around -it goes with the vibe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouVyLG_yNQ4&feature=related

  31. Alleycatfan: You know I’m not that surprised season 9 will have more getting signed (season 6 with Chris Daughtry got some signed too and has most successes so far) I watched since season one and I think compared to other seasons season 9 has the most numbers of contestants with great to very good voices in top 24. Usually they put 1 with a great voice and 3 with good voices and the rest will have average voices. But season 9 you have a few with really great voices that you can hear on a CD like Alex, Katie Stevens, Micheal, John Park, Andrew, and Lee with the very good radio friendly voices. Siobahn and Crystal have good voices too. There were a couple more in top 24 who had good voices that I cant remember. So this season stood out for the voices. But the other seasons have their strong points and beats season 9 in terms very good vocalists cause they focused more picking very good singers and not necessarily the best voices. They need to find good vocalist with great voices who also have some star quality next season – that’s why Carrie Underwood is doing so well.

  32. Daughtry was in Season 5. And they did have the most signed artists – Bucky Covington, Elliot Yamin, Mandisa, Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler, Daughtry and Taylor Hicks all got record deals. Even Kevin “Chicken Little” Covais has found some success acting.

By the way Season 5 was my overall favorite in terms of the wide variety of talent and entertaining personalities.

The problem with Season 9 was:

    1) Too many of the same kind of singer – the low key singer songwriter. Too much same = much dullness.
    2) Every last one of them had major stage fright issues.
    3) Many of them were too green and needed more time to develop (like Alex, Siobhan, Katie Stevens, Aaron Kelly, John Park.) And the intense pressure of the show prevented them from developing fast enough.
    4) None of the Top 12 knew how to perform on a big stage.
    5) None of the Top 12 had the “it factor”.

I think a lot of the Top 24 had potential but they weren’t quite ready for prime time.

  33. alleycatfan: Looks like Alex brought the Rangers good luck this year-he’s been wearing that Texas Rangers “flatbill” a great deal since April, and that team had NEVER been to the World Series in the history of their franchise…Something in the Stars for Alex in his career, and the Rangers…

I agree!! Coincidence, I think not, seems like destiny! This year’s Rangers team and Alex are both destined for greatness!

  34. Its interesting how many great artists have stage fright issues.I saw a very fine interview of Rod Stewart last night, and after 250 million records sold,Rod says he had great stage fright problems, and when the interviewer quizzed him further,he said he still does…
