Who would’ve thought that Rudolph could be delivered with such… soul?!?

  1. Alex said he is uploading a you tube video (christmas song)!! So excited…dang what wrong with me, I dont think I have been this excited for a while!! He just has that effect on people lol!! :w00t:

  2. I’ve done listening to his Christmas song. My heart’s melting! Such a cutie! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tJaGUEfUOY

  3. pipi-thanks for posting that video. seems like we haven’t seen alex forever but good to see that even at 20 years of age, there is still some “little boy” in him. very nice rendition of Rudolph

  4. I was just listening to Alex’s Christmas song ‘Rudolph red nose reindeer’ on youtube — he sang it with sincerity like he was feeling it and gave it his vibe. He was singing from his studio room. I don’t know why I think that place has a lonely vibe (maybe because all we see in that room are those articles and clippings he has on the wall.) Its not like when he was on IICD and had more things going on, but he still has his band mates, Melons, songwriters, and some friends to hang with.

He twitted that he had long song writing session with Rick Seibold and his partner couple days ago. I listened to some of that Rick’s music, and its one of those singer-songwriter pop-rock vibe that’s mainstream enough and no one can dislike. They should be able to put their own flavor into Alex’s soul vibe and make it work.

  5. Oh you posted it now. I was wondering why you guys didnt post earlier cause you’re usually on top of things before I know it. Anyway, I was just commenting about the song in another thread. That’s what I wrote below:

  8. Terrific Cover,GR8 CHOICE-it really brings out the tone in A’s voice…But what’s with the zillion comments on Youtube, and only one at MJ’s? There should be at least a dozen over there…

  9. It’s Alex’s birthday, but he gives a present to us! We love you Alex! Thank you for the Christmas gift and cheer!

I forgot how much I missed his beautiful voice, so unique. Only Alex could sing Rudolph with so much soul, haha. Thank you for this video Alex, can we have some more please??

  13. What a special treat for us!! Thank you Alex for giving Rudolph your soulful sound! Absolutely loved it.

  14. OK so confession: my reaction was kinda lukewarm when I read the tweets that Alex did Rudolf – that’s gotta be one of my least favorite Christmas songs… it’s so… trite. But then I watched the video and OMG! Alex worked his magic again, put his special spin on it, and suddenly this silly goofy song is all like HEARTFELT and TOUCHING!! How does he do it!?!! Amazing!!

  15. Thanks for that Kass-AWESOME!!I really agree that Alex’s voice makes even silly songs sound relevant, and hip  .I was reading various comments on this vid.,and I think the old-school R&B is what’s selling now in the U.K.-soon here, and that retro genre fits Alex to a T…Soooo-I’m thinking a New Year will feature Alex in new and inventive promos like we’ve never seen…

I so agree with you Kass….Alex makes anything sound good. I hate it when I say that, and people look at me like Im crazy and think I am only saying it because I am partial, but it so true, I dont think there is anyone out there who can really do that for the most part. Now I am not so far gone that I dont think there are some songs not suited for his voice (like that go gos song). But Alex rarely disappoints my ears, thats all Im sayin.

  17. My Christmas present came early this year with Alex’s Youtube channel and his cover of Rudolph. I’m already thinking ahead for 2011. I’m going to include on my wish list a full CD of Christmas songs by Alex. I promise to be good, Santa.

Kass, my feelings exactly! I thought, Rudolph? Ah…I wanted to hear “Please Come Home For Christmas.” But, omg, he put his Alex magic on the simplest song in the world and it sounds like a whole new song! It’s more soulful, with a touch of reggae, just that pure Alexness that we all love so much! I don’t care what Alex sings, he ALWAYS makes is special.

  19. That’s awesome Kassandra! I agree with you and Linda! And Rudolph is also not one of my fave Christmas songs, but Alex makes EVERY song his own! So unique. Whatta voice, whatta talent, the boy is a star!

  20. So glad Alex is getting so more attention again. Boy, have we missed him or what?

shadow_ia: I agree. I was thinking wherever Alex is living sure doesn’t resemble the IICD mansion. But, you know what? I bet he’s happy has hell and doing his thang, so it’s all good. I sometimes worry that he might be a little lonely sometimes, but that’s probably a ridiculous thought ’cause I don’t think that dimple-faced, velvet-throated guy (can’t call him a boy anymore) will ever be lonely a day in his life. LOL! Right, girls?

I’ll second that Lauren. haha  Pretty please, Santa. hahaha
